Fortescue Bay Kelp Forest

Experience:  Open Water

When the kelp is in full bloom, this is one of the nicest shore dives in Tasmania. Enty is via the boat ramp or a 200m walk aroud the point. This is a busy boat ramp so be carefull of boating traffic. The kelp rises to the surface from up to 10m deep from a sandy and rocky bottom. There are lots of sponges and large schools of fish. There are often weedy seadragons, abalone and crayfish. This dive is sheltered from all weather except hard easterly.
