Site layout:
-Reef extending out several hundred metres perpendicularly from the shoreline of Portsea
Points of interest:
-Good sized fish
-Blue throated wrasse, leatherjackets, occasional large rays and sizeable octopus
-old bottles are common as this area was busy with shipping earlier last century
-Can be dived as a drift on flood or ebb tide as well as a slack water dive
-On a flood tide drift eastward from the Portsea pier side across the reef, on an ebb drift from
the western side of the reef towards the pier
-Varying marine life that changes with the seasons
Bottom composition: Varied from rocky to sandy
Water movement/currents: Usually very clear water following a flood tide as the rip
currents wash through here.
Hazards: Current, boat traffic
