Depth:  8m
Experience:  Level 1
Serviced by:  Ocean Diver    MDS

One of the 6 'J' class Submarines that were given to Australia after the First World War, sunk whilst being towed to the Ships Graveyard outside Port Phillip Heads. Situated on top of another wreck on the point at Swan Island. With its superstructure out of the water the submarine looks as if it is floating on the surface seeking a target. Stern pointing at the ASIS training area on Swan Island about 50 metres from shore. .
Points of Interest: Many stingarees congregate both in and around the wreck.
Bottom Composition: : Sand and weed patches with scattered wreckage.
Water movement/currents: : Prone to strong currents so best dived at slack water although there is a lee created by the wreck on each tide direction.
Hazards: : Entry on or into the wreck is prohibited as it lies in a restricted area.
